Madhusudhan Rao, Founder of DSE
A popular Chinese proverb states, “If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.” This encapsulates the ideology of Late Shri P.Madhusudhan Rao. With a formidable experience of over 35 years in the field of education, he established the Delhi School of Excellence Group of Institutions, Secunderabad Public School, both of which offer CBSE curriculum and the St. Ann’s Group of Educational Institutions. It was also his strong belief that schools should groom global citizens who possess good values, healthy attitudes and exemplary behaviour.

Delhi School of Excellence established in the year 2012 has achieved the landmark of completing a decade in the field of Education. The three branches that were established across the city at Attapur, Banjara Hills and Manikonda are flourishing to his assertion that sound education should shape the character of children, nurturing their individuality and training them to be self-reliant. He was a patron of the India Development Foundation (IDF), which was deep-rooted in rendering yeoman service to the underprivileged members of the society. The entire DSE family will remember him for his noble intentions, right actions and complete dedication to build a team in fulfilling the Vision and Mission of DSE.
It gives me immense joy and immeasurable satisfaction when I think about our brain-child, Delhi School of Excellence, and its three branches, all of which today  are a decade old. These branches of DSE never fail to live up to the fullest their Vision and Mission statements – to impart education with a global perspective so that the students become world citizens, aware of and willing to share and contribute to the alleviation of global concerns! Our students are our future and I have every confidence that they are being groomed to imbibe a culture of tolerance, understanding, justice and forgiveness.   Delhi School of Excellence offers the best possible environment for the healthy and holistic development of its students by providing a circumspectly planned and structured curriculum. We believe that the school Management, Parents and Students are equal partners in the learning, caring and sharing process which forms an integral part of moulding our students into conscientious and mature young citizens.

I believe that acquisition of knowledge must lead to gaining the wisdom to ‘becoming more’ – more assiduous, more progressive and more humane. I have firm conviction that with every passing year, DSE will become more diligent and better equipped to the cause of providing education with a global flavour, willing and prepared to adopt and adapt to the variations in this constantly changing world.

Education has changed radically over the past decade. The focus today is on imparting skills and moulding mindsets that will prepare students to be global citizens with a sound understanding of their own ethnicities and cultures. It is indeed becoming more and more evident that technology driven education is here to stay  and will play an increasingly important part both in imparting and acquiring education.

Given this scenario, my heart fills with pride and satisfaction when I think about how the first institution of Delhi School of Excellence was established in 2012 and what a remarkable journey it has been since then! Today, all three branches of DSE have carved a niche for themselves in terms of popularity, the quality of education they impart and encouragement they give to students to participate in all the ongoing activities and competitions.

DSE has become a coveted name in education circles-a fact that I note with pleasure. DSE epitomizes not just my ideologies on education but also how well it symbolises the global philosophy of education that of transforming students into free-thinking, action-oriented individuals! It has kept pace not just with the ever-changing technology and globalization, but has done so without compromising on the culture of ethical principles that are so essential to mankind. I have every conviction that DSE will traverse the onward path with the same concern, confidence and commitment.
It is a forgone conclusion that evolution and adaptation are the hall marks of true education and especially so in the present times. The outbreak of the Corona Pandemic in March 2020 has radically changed this perception. It has heralded a sea change in the way we look at life and the world. The grit and determination of man have truly been tested to the apex level. When pushed against the wall, one has no option but to find foothold in order to not only survive but also to rise above the precarious situation. Education today has become online! Online classes became the order of the day. With necessity came the resilience and adaptation of the teacher fraternity to the increasing demands of all stake holders. We are proud to state that DSE has been one of the pioneer institutions to accept and forge ahead with online teaching. What started out as mere classroom lessons to impart academic learning quickly spread to involve all the curricular, extracurricular and co-curricular activities of the school. With every passing day, something new, something creative is learnt and imbibed through online classes. The adage ‘creativity is contagious, pass it on’ was truly epitomised by both the students and teachers.

We were amazed at the role essayed by the students that of inventing, experimenting, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and at the same time having fun! As we are reaching the end of this tumultuous academic year, the end result of these ‘creators’ in ensuring that learning is taken beyond the four walls of the classroom, skyrocketed our expectations.

DSE has evolved brilliantly to accept the changing scenario and to become super-efficient at confronting the situation. My total appreciation to the teachers who have put aside all their misgivings and rising to the occasion beyond everybody’s imagination all the while bearing in mind the fulfilment of the Vision and Mission of the school.
