Independence Day Celebrations

India proudly celebrates 77th Independence Day on 15th August, 2023. The Independence Day Celebrations in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills was marked with national pride and with a sense of brotherhood. Dignitaries Ms Shilpa Ravi Chairperson DSE Group of Institutions, Principal Ms Veena Murthy, Headmistress Ms Anasuya, Coordinators Ms Kavita and Ms Sana, teachers and students were given a warm welcome. The program began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the national anthem. The soulful rendition of Vande Mataram filled the air with a sense of love and respect for our nation. The Nukkad Natak by the students of Grades IX and X so realistically portrayed the need to save the environment and reduce pollution. Chairperson Ms Shilpa in her speech spoke about remembering those who struggled to achieve independence through their blood and sweat. This was followed by the melodious singing of the Spirit of Brotherhood by the students of Grades IV & V. Sama Subhani of Grade IX eloquently spoke about the sacrifices of unsung heroes who strived for independence. The excellent presentation of Digital India by the students of Grades I & II was quite informative about how digital technology has helped India achieve wide connectivity and usher in wide-spread development. The address by Principal Ms Veena Murthy encouraged students to evolve into better people and contribute to make India enriched in every way. Superb poetry recitation in Hindi by the students of Grades III & IV was pleasing to the hearts of everyone. The Inter-House Folk Dance Competition – Milap brought to the fore the colourful and diverse dance forms of India. The performances by all the Houses were truly enthralling and mesmerizing and the winners were the Trojans bagging the first position, Samurais the second position and Knights getting the third position. Poetry recitation about ‘Ekta’ in Hindi brought in a feeling of unity and patriotism. The closing address by Mr Santosh enlightened us about the self-reliance of India in many areas such as economy, science and defence. The program ended by the vote of Thanks by the Cultural Secretaries. The Student Council members very confidently and efficiently compered the program.
