ZOOTOPIA – …….take a wild ride
A child’s heart not only seeks knowledge but also yearns for fun and frolic. Learning through experience is indeed far more interesting and leads to better retention. Keeping in mind the overall development of the students, our school provides its students with rejuvenating programmes from time to time.
The students of Grade l put up a spectacular show called, ’Zootopia’ on the 17th of September, 2019. The theme was the jungle and its varied inhabitants. The importance of each creature was highlighted through song, dance and poetry.
The Primary Coordinator, Ms. Kavitha welcomed the parents. She spoke about the aim behind the programme, which was to bring all the students onto the stage and thereby instill confidence in them. She laid emphasis on team work and honing leadership skills. A stage performance pushes a child to think on his feet and cope with the unexpected. She reiterated that academic excellence alone is not enough to develop a well-rounded personality.
The programme began with a welcoming dance. The children enthralled the audience with a skit showcasing the story of a lion who made an elephant the king of the jungle. The stage was packed with lions, camels, crows, zebras, monkeys, bears, giraffes, elephants, tigers and foxes. Each child had a story to tell and an opportunity to showcase his/her talent. It was a morning of adventure and fun.
The show concluded with a vote of thanks. The applause that followed was proof of the fact that both parents and children thoroughly enjoyed their wild ride though Zootopia!
