Lesson in Financial Literacy
DeeSians , on 9th November, 2016, received a lesson in financial literacy through activities conducted during the day. The demonitisation phenomenon sweeping the country like a turbulent storm, imparted some valuable lessons to the students and sub staff . ‘Demonitisation’, its need and impact was discussed by the teachers in their classes. Students swarmed around the digital display board for information on the ban of Rs 500 and 1000 notes. Little minds were worried about their collection in the piggy banks and the future of those notes. They sought advice from their teachers .
The members of ‘Teach for India’(Work Education Activity) conducted a session for the sub staff enlightening them about the current scenario so as to avoid any panic situation and advised them to be beware of cheating. A question session followed which helped them clarify their doubts regarding exchange of notes.

A small step - A giant leap
‘Campaign for a Cause’ is a new initiative taken up by DeeSians. They are proud to shoulder social responsibilities and as the year progresses, important issues will be addressed by the students. The theme for April is ‘Save- A- Drop’. As the city reels under scorching heat and severe water crisis, DeeSians surge ahead trying to find a solution. Various activities have been allocated to classes and the final outcome will be the presentation of a project report to a Government representative .
Due to summer vacation being advanced, the activities scheduled for April will now be conducted once school commences in June.
Caring is Doing
DSE believes in living for a cause. True to its vision, social responsibilities are an integral part of this organization and IDF (Indian Development Foundation) partners with us to sensitise the staff and students. In its Annual Grants Function, held at Jaipur recently, IDF inducted Shri P. Madhusudhan Rao Garu (Chairman, DSE) as its patron as he has been the driving force behind the social activities that DSE takes up. It is indeed a proud moment for DSE group of institutions to flourish under the aegis of a philanthropist like Sir. DSE will be part of many more events to reach out to society.

Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya
A Visit to Bapu Ghat
“Be the change you want to see in the world” was a quote said by ‘the Father of our Nation’. To experience the same, the students of Grade VII, VIII and IX of Delhi School of excellence visited the Bapu Ghat on 17th October 2014.
To start the session there was a small game in which students were given a picture and had to find the similar one on the wall that had 400+ pictures of Gandhiji. Then, there was a digital session for the students where they played memory games, quiz and learnt a lot about Gandhiji. The students then saw four movies of Gandhiji and his contribution to the Nation.
Deesians took a step towards ‘Swachh Bharat’ and cleaned the whole area at Bapu Ghat. Last but not the least, the students recited the poem ‘Gandhjii tere padh par’ and everyone was given a book on Gandhiji which depicted his struggle towards Free India.
