On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the students of Grades VII and VIII organized a program for the teachers in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills, on 4th September, 2019.The entire program was conceptualised, compered and conducted by the students. It was time for the students to show their creativity and organizing skills, and for the teachers to relax and have fun. The students organised games such as dumb charades, lemon spoon race and musical chair. The students also performed a skit highlighting the contributions of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India and one of the greatest teachers of the world. Dr. Radhakrishnan was also an eminent scholar, who was twice nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature. The students composed and sang a song in English. They also danced to a medley of popular Hindi film songs and a Latino song. At the end, many teachers too joined the students in dance on the stage. Students’ energy and enthusiasm was palpable when they saw the teachers participate in the games and felt proud when they took the onus of conducting the program on their own. The program ended with the singing of the national anthem.
