Open House in DSE is conducted to involve the students in the learning process in such a way that he/she understands the concepts and retains them for long. To involve the students classroom transactions and help them in attaining the learning outcome, the open house was planned and conducted on 8th September 2018.
Students were accompanied by their parents and welcomed them to their class. As they proceeded they explained the concepts that they have imbibed in English, EVS, Math and second language with various models and activities that were displayed by their teachers. The students enjoyed taking the role of their teacher in explanation and the parents took pride in listening to their wards and encouraging. When students showed their map skills by telling the difference between a map and a globe, named and pointed the continents and oceans, the parents were amazed. The students displayed utmost confidence while displaying grammar concepts, blends, tables, addition and subtraction, and meal planning. They could also identify the letters and related the words to pictures in language corner. The knowledge they gained about Indian tricolor flag and aquatic animals was well appreciated. Finally, students handed over a ‘Thank you’ card to their parents prepared by them in the art class.
The Open House gave the students a scope for self evaluation. It also helped the teachers and parents to find the strengths of children and also the areas where he/she needs improvement.
