International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day

“Yoga does not just change the way we see things; it transforms the person who sees.” B.K.S. Iyengar
International Yoga Day is observed on 21st June every year to spread awareness about the importance and benefits of Yoga on mental and physical health of people. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the theme of International Yoga Day – 2020 is “Yoga at Home and Yoga with family”. Yoga is helpful in easing stress through meditation and for physical flexibility. Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills has always encouraged students in activities like Yoga for the well-being of the body and mind.

The lockdown situation has put everyone on a pause button specially for children with no physical activities and outdoor games. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the students were taught basic asanas to release fatigue and improve body postures. Students performed virtual Rhythmic Yoga taught by our Yoga Instructor, Mr. Gowri Naidu. The staff participated in the virtual yoga session with much enthusiasm. It is rightly said, in a healthy body lies a healthy mind. May god bless all of us with the inner strength to cope with the new normal. Let us make yoga not a habit but a way of living.
