Modern world necessitates extensive use of electronic gadgets and the internet. The flip side of this can be the wrong usage of these by students, who are of impressionable age. The morning assembly in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills, saw an impressive enacting of a skit with the topic ‘Self Control’ by the students of VIII B on 18th June, 2019.
The skit depicted the story of a boy who wants a mobile phone and his parents buy him one. He uses it excessively and even takes it to school, playing online games such PUBG and Fortnite. This affects his academics and he performs poorly in his tests. His both teachers and parents reprimand him. He joins a study group but the other students don’t encourage him in playing the games. This upsets him and he gets back into the groove of paying attention to his studies. Lastly, a student sums up by saying that we should maintain self-control in the usage of technology and not give in to distractions and temptations. The students enacted the skit through mime and used banners depicting school, home, shop, and study group. Almost all students of the class participated in this skit and music was used in the background.
