The morning assembly in school is a common meeting ground for students to start the day with a prayer, to have beautiful thoughts about how to conduct themselves and an excellent platform to bring out their talents in the field of music, literature and art. The morning assembly presentation by the students of Grade VA of Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills on 22nd August, 2019 aptly conveyed these ideas.
The presentation began with the students giving an insight into the practice of morning assembly right from the inception of education from the ancient Gurukul system to the modern education system. They listed out the salient features of conducting morning assembly such as the discipline required, its usefulness, and special days in the assembly. It motivates students to do well since they are appreciated, rewarded and given accolades on performing well in academics and co-curricular activities in the morning assembly in front of the whole school.
The students also performed a skit about the relevance of the festival of Janmashtami. The message of Lord Krishna in Bhagvad Gita that nothing is constant on this earth was the highlight of the assembly. The students used cutouts to create a scene of Gurukul and costumes to enact the skit. All the students took an active part in the assembly presentation with confidence and enthusiasm. The students also read out national and international news with the national anthem sung at the end.
