“If you cut a tree, you kill a life.”
To spread this thought, the students of grade 1-C presented a special assembly on 19th December, 2019. The assembly commenced with the school song, followed by a short skit based on an inspirational poem ‘There’s an Orangutan in Our Classroom’ which was created by Esma Izzidien, an environmental charity which focuses on protecting the natural world. It tells the story of a young orangutan who finds herself homeless and hiding out in a classroom. The primate explains how her habitat has been destroyed by deforestation. It concluded with a beautifully performed dance to a touching song, ‘Na kato mujhe dukhta hai’. It was based on the theme “Save our forests, save our animals, save mankind”. The students as well as the staff members enjoyed and appreciated the performance.
